Bromont - 9.30.07

Hi Manu fans,

We're in Bromont for the weekend for rest and an environmental fair (yes, yet another). This one was in Lake Brome (well...not IN the lake exacly, but near it)...

Matthieu and his mom riding the train
(run by an electric car conversion company)...While there aren't many pictures from the fair, there are several other pictures to post from the surrounding days, so enjoy!

Trying out his new playmat for the first time...
Me think me likey!

Chillin' with my aunt and cousin...

Earlier this week, we went to the Museum of Chocolate in Bromont (yes...another time) with Grandma Lora and Grandpa Jaime. Here's a couple shots from Grandpa Fred's camera..

Sleeping on mom...

...and lounging around with dad.

Finally, here's some pics from this weekend. Autumn is starting to set in here, and taking a walk with his Grandpa was quite nice for the little dudemeister.

Cousin Matthieu played a little soccer with his mom and grandpa while Manu and Séverine were sleeping inside...

Finally, we saw the pumpkin that the neighbors here are entering into a pumpkin freak show. Odd world we live in, isn't it?

Long time no post...

Yes, we know, we know... We haven't updated here in a little while. Hey... We DO have a newborn, yo! :-P

Anyway, so since we last posted, we had a few things going. Mike's parents came for a few days along with Mike's sister, Elisa. First time meeting Manu and everybody got along.
Mike's job is going very well, he's happy, his co-workers are cool, his project is cool so everything is peachy on that side.
Manu has been having major colic this week though, so it's been hard, especially in the evenings, and watching your little one hurt like that with big tears rolling down his cheeks and his face becoming all red is quite hard... Makes me cry often when I can't calm him, but we have to get used to it, sometimes there is simply NOTHING we can do... And that's not even the teething part. OY!
Luckily we found a bit of magic working, he really loves being danced with to a very particular song by Rodrigo y Gabriela, 2 guitar players who are quite the virtuosos. We had found them randomly on Aurgasm (aurgasm.us) where obscur music is posted regularly. Well, Manu calms instantly when we put this track on and we dance furiously with him tight against one of us... I guess that's how it is, we have to find the little tricks that work with him (good luck with that to our friends who are soon to be parents too!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll see, you find these quickly! hehehe).

Ok, so what else... Ah yeah, Manu is starting to smile when he sees Mike and I, not everytime of course, but often since the past 3 days. So that's the best, and it makes everything look like a blur, especially in the middle of the night when all you can think about is sleep and how you might just return the little monster to the store, but then he smiles at you (and not just a simple involuntary reflex smile when he farts!) and your life all of the sudden makes complete sense!
We were able to catch some, but it's a little blurry:

Then he also just has the best intense look, he will stare at us and we just melt:

So I know why you all come to this blog, and so I'll stop ranting and post these photos for you all to enjoy:

Grandma watches the thumb sucking tryouts:
Grandpa also admires:
And of course Elisa (Mike's sister) totally loves our little monkey:

We managed to take some photos of bath time which often happens with me now since it works really well and he actually loves it now:

Hey hey! Look at me, I'm a dork!:

But I look so handsome in my little baseball big outfit!!!!! hehehe:

Oh Daddy, you're funny with that weird apparatus in your hands!!! Wait, let me pose!:

September 16th, 2007: Sunday is family day!

Today we spent a long time outside, so we took a lot of pictures! Yeahh!!
Now baby Manu is sleeping in his Daddy's arms and doesn't want to be put down, so Mike is dancing with the little Koala perpetually...
Here are the shots:

Parc Lafontaine, right across the street from us! We're lucky!!!!:

some guys were playing very chilled music, it was really pleasant actually... So with the perfect sun, nice people around, it was photo time:

oh yeah, I got the stroller action going! hehe:

What ever do you mean!?!??????:

No!? You didn't!:

This astroturf car lives up the street from us, cool neighborhood, huh!?:

Oh yeah, I'm the lady's man!:

This is to prove that Daddies change diapers too!:

Me sit on kitchen counter!:

Thumb sucking, not that easy to do! :

September 13th, 2007: Another Day on Earth

Hello hello,
We have a few cute pictures ready to upload now, so here we go.
Let's see, what else happened today... Ooooh, today was the first day Mommy was able to take me out in the stroller all by her little self! Woohoo!!! Seems like nothing, but it's not that easy when they are that small... I always want to have him on me, that way I can control how things go, if his little head is straight, if this and that is good and ok, but really one has to let go and figure out that they are quite capable these little monkeys!
When Mike came home tonight we had a little dance party the 3 of us, and Manu took his bath with his Daddy for the first time. Now he's sleeping very deeply when he should be awake and should be sleeping this deeply later so WE can sleep, but oh well... Who's the boss anyway, huh!?
hehehe
